Due to the Covid-19 emergency, Sustainability Summit 2020 events have had to be rescheduled. Tentative new dates are July 29-30. Please refer to current updates on international travel policies and contact the organizers for further information.
Sustainable Development Advisory Board
In 2020, the Sustainability Summit consolidates 10 years of discussions held by the SDWGs (Sustainable Development Working Groups) on how digital transformation is shaping the future of our society. These include the Digital Economy Checkpoint, Electronics Day, Future Cities, Automotive Innovation, Finance Transparency Forum, Global Migration Forum, Transportation Security Forum, Registered Traveler Forum, HealthTech Innovation, Supply Chain Management Forum and Citizen ID Forum.
A new Advisory Board announced on May 5 will support our community’s efforts as we redefine objectives in light of the UN’s SDGs and monitor progress made by key initiatives. Take aways from a Smart Round Table involving the high profile community members invited to support the Sustainability Summit’s SDWGs as advisors will be published in Sustainable Development Magazine.
10 years of Sustainability Summit
Sustainability Summit community members will celebrate a decade of international collaboration on the occasion of a two-day congress taking place on May 4-5, 2020 in Nuremberg, Germany. Launched in 2010 with a roadmap of initiatives steered by the Sustainable Development Working Groups (SDWGs), the Sustainability Summit has been endorsed over the years by the governments of the various hosting countries and by the European Commission, building on the discussions held during Wise Media conferences held in Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Milan, Nuremberg, Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Vienna.
The 10th anniversary edition of the independent symposium on sustainable development will launch new objectives in light of the UN SDGs and present the synthesis of specific efforts carried out in the context of key initiatives launched over the years.
A two-day congress on sustainable development
Join the debate and contribute to an open, multi-disciplinary and cross-industry discussion on the future of our global, hyper-connected, technology-driven society. Key takeaways and goals set on the occasion of past Sustainability Summit congresses hosted over the years will be illustrated in light of the latest findings shared by renowned community members. As we sit together once again at the table of innovation, meet the new board of experts that the Sustainability Summit has created on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.
“In 2020, the Sustainability Summit consolidates 10 years of ongoing discussions on how digital transformation is shaping the future of our society,” says Sophie Boyer de la Giroday, President of Wise Media and Chairman of the Sustainability Summit. “As new milestones are being reached by the digital revolution at even higher speed in the era of artificial intelligence, the debate on its goals, best practices and major challenges remains of deepest interest to governments and citizens, as well as all public and private sector stakeholders.”
At the Sustainability Summit 2020, world-class speakers discuss the latest findings of the Sustainability Summit Working Groups’ specific efforts – focusing both vertically on specific industries and transversally on topics of pivotal interest for those steering the advent of technology innovation.

Members of the SDWGs will once again moderate key conference sessions and engage with regulators, technology proponents, as well as industry leaders, decision makers, pioneering technology adopters and key influencers. The Call for Papers is open to both advocates and challengers of the solutions and pertinent legislative framework being currently developed. Speaker applications will be evaluated by a Technical Committee and are subject to expert screening. Spontaneous applications are welcome. Conference registration is subject to Sustainability Summit policies.
Speakers from both public and private sectors are invited to join the Sustainability Summit’s
open debate on technology innovation.
