ID WORLD Abu Dhabi is the world’s most exclusive international event on the strategic role of identification. The event will open its doors for the eighth time under the patronage of H. H. Sheik Saif Bin Zahyed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates. Endorsed by the Emirates Identity Authority and the European Commission, the ID WORLD Abu Dhabi conference will be hosted at the government’s prestigious center for strategic studies and research, in the Emirati capital.
As annual EMEA conference on security, mobility and traceability, ID WORLD Abu Dhabi is part of Wise Media’s series of ID WORLD Events, hosted each year for the ID WORLD Working Groups (Citizen ID Forum, Asset Tracking Forum and Transportation Security Forum). It sees high-profile delegations convene from around the world to discuss today’s developments in the modernization of government-driven ID programs and auto ID schemes in all key sectors of societal and economic development. The event is part of the Sustainability Summit 2015 and sheds light on the role of IDs in the context of ICT-driven innovation. The Call for Papers was open until June 1. The ID WORLD community’s EMEA Summit brought together a world-class array of today’s public and private sector decision makers on February 24-25, to debate topical issues and projects in the field of identification. Wise Media’s seventh Abu Dhabi Summit, held under the patronage of the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and with the endorsement of the European Commission, examined the critical impact of investments made in ICT-based infrastructures and identity schemes in particular, as a key enabling element supporting today’s trusted interaction and delivery models.
Government ministers from 7 nations, top representatives of international non-government organizations and decision makers from the public and private sectors contributed to a rich agenda of proceedings and exclusive meetings. The Secretary General of Interpol, the Inter- Regional Adviser of the United Nations and the Director International Relations of the European Commission addressed the audience on the opening day of the event. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, His Highness Lieutenant General Sheik Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan offered the Summit’s opening remarks, hosted ministerial meetings and participated in policy makers meetings before visiting the exhibition.
